The Surfer Stoke Project is a lot of things, but at its core, its a happiness project. As I’ve mentioned, although I do want to help people and that is the paramount goal of the project, I want to become the happiest person I can be. Consequently, in the project’s infancy, I’ve been researching ways to “get happy.” I found an excellent website on this topic: The founder of the site’s name is Gretchen Rubin, and Gretchen suggests that each person make a “Happiness Commandments” list. She suggests that in forming the list, you: 1. Listen to what is buzzing in your brain; 2. Follow the metaphor of your life; 3. Aim high and fight the urge to be too comprehensive; and 4. Think about what’s true for YOU. What are your happiness commandments? Please share! Your input is very valuable to me and the project overall. I will be reading Gretchen Rubin’s book “The Happiness Project” over the next week and will post a review.
